Transport: There are eight train stations. The five Tramlink stops are Beckenham Junction, Beckenham Road, Avenue Road, Birkbeck and Elmers End. Trains reach central London in 20-35 minutes, to Cannon Street and Charing Cross via London Bridge from Eden Park, Elmers End, Clock House and New Beckenham. Trains from Shortlands, Beckenham Junction and Kent House go to Victoria with some direct trains from Beckenham Junction to London Bridge. Shortlands and Ravensbourne trains go to Blackfriars via Denmark Hill for King’s College Hospital; some go on to St Pancras. From Birkbeck there are trains to London Bridge and Blackfriars.

Kelsey Park: A beautiful and preserved public park, which once formed the Kelsey Manor Estate. You will find many array of birds hovering around the waterfalls and wondering alongside the well-trimmed rose bushes, you can also walk the nature trails, maybe even stop off for a coffee o bite to eat in the park café. The park has its own Tennis courts, mini golf and children’s play area. The perfect place to stroll or take a day out.

Beckenham Place Park: Once again another stunning green space. On entering the park through its grand gates, you will soon feel the busy roads of London have left you. The striking and historic Georgian Mansion that sits at one of the highest points in the park, offers lovely views of vast green areas and ancient woodlands. In addition there is a Yoga/Pilates/Wellbeing centre, arts and crafts classes and a basement bar/café located at the Beckenham Place Mansion. It is also home to London’s first purpose built swimming lake, ideal for summer dips.

Beckenham Cinema: The Odeon in Beckenham is a 6 screened cinema fitted with RealD 3D and Dolby Digital Sound. A great place to catch the latest movies. Located in an ideal spot on the High Street, perfect if you fancy dining out, before or after a film.

The Spa at Beckenham: This spa offers a great way to keep fit and healthy. It has a choice of two swimming pools, fitness gym plus Mind and Body Studio. There are over 200 group exercise classes every week.

Schooling: The principal secondary schools in Beckenham are Harris Academy Beckenham, Harris Academy Bromley and the two Langley Park schools. There are also a large number of schools catering for primary education, including the independent Roman Catholic school, Bishop Challoner, St Mary's Catholic Primary School, Marian Vian Primary School, Balgowan Primary School, Worsley Bridge Primary School, Harris Primary Academy Beckenham, Clare House Primary School and Churchfields Primary School.
