Referral Fees & Third-Party Services | Galloways Estate Agents

Our Commitment to Transparency

At Galloways Estate Agents, we are committed to providing clear, honest, and transparent information regarding any referral arrangements we have with third-party property professionals and service providers.

As part of the buying, selling, letting, and renting process, we may introduce clients to trusted solicitors, mortgage advisers, surveyors, financial services providers, and moving or concierge companies. If you choose to use one of these recommended providers, Galloways may receive a referral fee or commission.

We believe our clients should always understand:

  • Whether Galloways receives a referral fee;
  • Which company the referral relates to;
  • The amount, range, or nature of the fee payable; and
  • Your absolute right to use any provider of your own choosing.

We aim to ensure full compliance with The Property Ombudsman (TPO) Code of Practice, National Trading Standards guidance, and consumer protection legislation while maintaining the high standards of professionalism and transparency expected from Galloways Estate Agents.

What Is a Referral Fee?

A referral fee is a payment made by a third-party company to an estate agent following a successful introduction to their services. Referral arrangements are common throughout the UK property industry and help connect buyers, sellers, landlords, and tenants with experienced property professionals.

At Galloways, we only recommend providers we believe can offer reliable service, strong communication, and professional expertise.

Referral fees may apply where clients choose to use services such as:

  • Conveyancing solicitors;
  • Mortgage brokers and financial advisers;
  • Surveyors and valuation specialists;
  • Insurance providers;
  • Utility switching and home-moving services; and
  • Other property-related professionals.

Referral fees are paid by the provider directly to Galloways and are separate from any fees payable for our estate agency or letting services.

A referral fee is a payment made to us by a third-party company when a customer chooses to use their services following an introduction from us.

Referral arrangements are common within the property industry and may apply to services connected with:

  • Mortgage advice;
  • Conveyancing/solicitors;
  • Insurance products;
  • Surveyors;
  • Financial services;
  • Utilities or moving services; and
  • Other property-related services.

These arrangements do not increase the price you pay unless specifically stated by the provider.

Your Choice of Provider

You are free to use any provider of your choosing. You do not have to use any company we recommend in order to:

  • Make an offer on a property;
  • Proceed with a sale or purchase;
  • Instruct us as your agent; or
  • Receive the same level of service from us.

Our recommendations are intended to help clients who may benefit from introductions to experienced property professionals. However, you should always undertake your own research before selecting a provider.

Referral Fee Disclosure & Third-Party Providers

In accordance with industry guidance, Galloways will disclose:

  • The name of the third-party provider;
  • That we may receive a referral fee; and
  • The amount or estimated amount payable to us.

This information may be disclosed:

  • On individual property listings;
